چکیده

In the recent year several areas of computing technology are being developed; multimedia technologies are becoming edge technologies and new devices and operating systems are proposed in order to cooperate better with multimedia information. Multimedia objects have become a part of our everyday life and more and more applications are constructed for the creation of better multimedia management. The ultimate goal is to expand the World Wide Web in order to be able to support full management and presentation of multimedia objects. Hypermedia Markup Language promises to bring multimedia objects in the WWW and treat them as any simple object. In this paper we present the HMM language, its major characteristics and a basic model for the Hypermedia Markup. Additionally, we present a survey on the Hypermedia/Hypertext Markup Languages that are mostly used in the World Wide Web.
